Obituary: James C. Bougas, Owned the New England Meat Market in Peabody For Over 50 Years

James C. Bougas, 91, died on January 28th, 2015, surrounded by family, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Claire (Tsorvas) Bougas, and son of Charles and Demetra Bougas of Peabody. He was a resident of Peabody and Longboat Key, FL
He was a proud veteran of World War II, where he served as a Statistical Control officer for the US Army Air Corps.

Prior to his retirement in 1987, Jim owned and operated the New England Meat Market in Peabody for over 50 Years.
He was a member of Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Saint Vasilios Men’s Club and was a 60 year Master Mason with the Jordan Lodge of Peabody. He was a graduate of Bentley College.

Besides his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his son, Charles and daughter-in-law, Laura (Burgin) Bougas, of Beverly, his daughter, Jami and Her husband, Cecil Spencer of Cotati, CA and 4 grandchildren: Christopher, Alison, and Robert Bougas and Joshua Spencer.
His Funeral Services will be held on Monday at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be held prior from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James’ memory, to the charity of your choice.
