Obituary: Janet E. (Dobbins) Sweeney, 55, Former Peabody Resident

Janet E. (Dobbins) Sweeney, 55, of Stoneham, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at Winchester Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

She was the wife of Michael E. Sweeney, and the daughter of the late John and Emma (Goguen) Dobbins.

Born and raised in Lynn, Janet was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1976. She has also lived in Peabody and Cleremont, FL, before moving to Stoneham in recent years.

She worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in former years as a secretary. Janet enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Foxwoods, cooking, and shopping. She enjoyed decorating and planning for the holidays. Janet was most fond of spending time with her family.

Besides her husband Michael, she is survived by her two children, Melissa Morin and her husband Samuel of Salem, and David Pass of Salem, her grandchildren Shayla and Logan Morin, and her eight siblings, Jack Dobbins and his wife Cindy of Las Vegas, Tom Dobbins and his wife Barbara of Danvers, Bill Dobbins and his wife Carol of New York, Kathy LaFleur and her husband Al of New Hampshire, Maureen Demeo and her husband Mike of Kissimmee, Florida, Joanne Dobbins of New Hampshire, Annmarie Moro and her husband David of Lynn and Michael Dobbins and his wife Sherry of Lynn. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Janet was the sister of the late Patricia Steadman, Kenny and Richard Dobbins.

Visiting hours will be held in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
