Jennie “Nea” Laberis, 91, of Peabody, died Sunday morning at the Pilgrim Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George and Electra (Booza) Laberis. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School.

Jennie was employed as a bookkeeper at the former Coleman’s Sporting Goods Store in Danvers before retiring.
Nea was an avid golfer and was one the first female members at the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club. She was an amazing cook and excellent hostess and was the life of the party. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Abroad and was a life long member of St. Vasilios Church in Peabody.

She is survived by her brother James Laberis of Salem and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Peter, Marino, Spero, Collette, Dan, and Vetta Laberis and by Maggie Wallace.
A Memorial graveside service will be held on Friday May 15, at the family lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B -102, Danvers, MA 01923.
