Obituary: John F. O'Brien, Payroll Manager, Massachusetts Water Resource Authority

Was a constant advocate for those with disabilities.

John F. O’Brien, 67, died peacefully on Saturday December 6, 2014 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Burlington, after a brief illness.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Joseph and E. Marguerite (Kidney) O’Brien. He grew up in Marblehead and graduated from Marblehead High School. He then studied and received a Bachelor Degree from Boston University.

Mr. O’Brien worked as a Payroll Manager with the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority (MWRA) for the last 16 years.

John enjoyed an active life and traveling for golfing at Myrtle Beach, yearly attendance at the Boston Red Sox Spring Training in Ft. Myers, FL, and traveling throughout the East Coast. He was a constant advocate for those with disabilities.

He is survived by his brothers William O’Brien of Braceville, IL and James O’Brien & his wife June of McLean, VA; a sister Patricia O’Brien of Los Angeles, CA, and a niece Lucy O’Brien of Palo Alto, CA.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for his Funeral Service on Thursday December 11, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
