Peabody - John M. Doherty, 56, died peacefully on Tuesday March 10, 2015 at the Whidden Hospital in Everett, following a brief illness.
Born in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Anne (Bickford) Doherty. He grew up in Stoneham and graduated from Stoneham High School. He then attended Bunker Hill Community College.

Mr. Doherty was a member of the Carpenters Union of Boston for many years. He also worked as the Security Manager with The Palace Entertainment Complex in Saugus until they closed. Later he worked private security details.
John was an avid Patriots and Boston sports fan. He loved being outdoors, so camping and fishing were his favorite pastimes. He was very dedicated to his large family and Irish heritage.

He is survived by five sisters and a brother, Carol Collins & her husband Joe of Marshfield, Margo Lapietro & her husband Joseph of Bedford, NH, Elaine Dolan & her husband Edward of Halifax, Joyce Cotton & her husband Paul of Kennebunk, ME, Maureen Gormley & her husband Paul of Peabody, and Joseph Doherty, Jr. & his wife Lee of Ridge, NH; two generations of nieces and nephews, 17 nieces & nephews and 19 grandnieces & grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday March 14, 2015 from 2 – 5 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home with a Funeral Service at 5 P.M. in the funeral home. Cremation will take place after the funeral. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, NKF of New England, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
