Joseph F Doucette, 65, of Peabody, died on March 17, 2015 at the Saugus Center Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Arthur J and Ruth F (Smith) Doucette. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School. He continued his education at Bridgewater State and Salem State College where he received his bachelor’s degree.

He was employed as a reference librarian at Dean Jr. College, a substitute teacher for English, Art, and History at Peabody High School and was a stain glass artist and fabricator in Peabody as well. He also enjoyed reading and writing and wrote a book entitled “Collecting Antique Toys.”
He is survived by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Doucette.

Following cremation, a private family graveside committal was held at the family lot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lynn. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
