Obituary: Manuel P. Couto, Worked at Tan-Rite Leather in Peabody
Parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Holy Ghost Society

Manuel P. Couto, 79, of Peabody, passed away on November 10, 2014 at the North Shore Medical Center-Salem Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Isaura (Rodrigues) Couto.
Manuel was born on February 17, 1935 in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, son of the late Virginio & Clara (Peixoto) Couto. He was raised there until moving to the United States 46 years ago
While in Peabody, Manuel worked at Tan-Rite Leather, prior to his retirement. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Holy Ghost Society, both in Peabody. He also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, took pride in keeping his shoes shined and cleaned, but most importantly he enjoyed being surrounded by his family.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children; Emanuel T. Couto & wife Paula of Peabody, Claude T. Couto “Happily Divorced” of Peabody, Arthur T. Couto & wife Kimberly of Newtown, NH, and Maria G. Yeaton & husband Scott of Peabody; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; William, Aiyana, & Raiden Couto; 6 godchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters Maria C. Vidinha and Maria C. Silva.
A visitation will be held, Thursday, November 13, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral will be held on Friday, November 14, at 8:00AM at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody at 9:00AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial Contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave. Suite 2, Norwood,MA 02062.
