Obituary: Mary (Collins) Williams, Member of the Philoptohos Society

Employed with the Peabody School Department for 15 years.

Mary (Collins) Williams, 95, of Peabody, died Monday morning at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James Williams.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Constantine and Vasiliky (Perdekis) Kallianesis. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools.

Mary was employed for over 15 years with the city of Peabody School Department.

Mary was a member of the Philoptohos Society and enjoyed dancing, reading and was an avid sports fan. While living at the Peabody House she acquired many close friends and enjoyed nightly games of cards and bingo.

She is survived by her two loving daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Thomas Foley of Salem, and Kathy and Tanner Dinning of Chelmsford, her cousin, Helen Markos of Ipswich and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, James Collins, Virginia Gurley, and Portia Mavrakos. Mary’s family is grateful for the dedicated staff of the Peabody Glen Nursing Home for their compassion and professional support.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial services will be private.
