OBITUARY: Patricia Fleury

Patricia Fleury of Peabody died Aug. 12 at Mass. General Hospital, succumbing to serious injuries she sustained after being struck by a car in Peabody. She was 75.

Patricia "Patsy" (Henderson) Fleury, age 75, of Peabody, formerly of Plymouth, New Hampshire, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, from injuries she sustained after being struck by a car in Peabody on Friday.

She was the wife of the late Donald Fleury, and the daughter of the late Robert and Gladys (Lindgren) Henderson. Born and raised in Winthrop, Patsy was a graduate of Winthrop High School. She moved to Peabody in 1998 from Plymouth, N.H. She worked as a companion and caretaker in the private home health care industry for many years.

Patsy loved reading. She enjoyed the ocean and being with her family, especially for holidays. She lived animals and rescued many cats and dogs. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. When her family describes her, they use words including special, smiling, marvelous, vivacious, sassy, spunky, huggable, fun, kind, sweet, caring, loving and a gentle spirit.

She is survived by her daughter Sue McQuarrie and her husband Ed of Peabody, grandson Adam McQuarrie of Lynn, brother Ronald Henderson and his wife Ruthann of Salem, sister Carol Madigan White and her husband Dave of Campton, N.H., brother William Henderson and his wife Roberta of Winthrop, her sisters-in-law Phyllis Henderson of Nashua, N.H. and Edna Henderson of Mt. Marion, N.Y. She also leaves 27 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews, her loving friends Carol and Nancy and her devoted cat, Melanie.

She was the sister of the late Robert Henderson Jr., Dorothy Henderson Worden, Joan Henderson Hall, John Joseph Henderson, the sister-in-law of the late Robert Worden, Wayne Hall, James Madigan, and the aunt of the late Ronald Henderson Jr.

A funeral service will be held in the Solimine, Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway on Monday at 4 p.m. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 2-4 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Congregational Church, 12 Maple St., Peabody, MA 01960.
