Obituary: Paul J. LeBlanc, 43, PVMHS Grad and Gulf War Vet

Paul J. LeBlanc, 43, of Mansfield, died after being stricken at his home on Thursday, February 6, 2014.

Paul was born in Lynn, on May 1, 1970, son of Armand J. and Claire M. (Boudreau) LeBlanc. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School Class of 1988. On September 12, 1988, Paul enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps and served as an E-4 in the Gulf War and was Honorably Discharged from active duty on September 11, 1992. Prior to moving to Mansfield 4 years ago, Paul resided in North Attleboro and Cumberland, RI.

As a Disabled War Veteran, he volunteered his time helping veterans struggling with substance abuse. He enjoyed listening to music, outdoor activities especially sky diving and cliff jumping. “Paul left a lasting impression on everyone he met whether they were friends or complete strangers”

In addition to his parent of Peabody, Paul is survived by a brother, Armand P. LeBlanc and his longtime companion Sharon Carney and her three children, Chris, Meghan and Caitlin; a sister, Laura M. Bettencourt and her husband Paul of Danvers; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

As requested a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that contributions be made in Paul’s name to the VA Boston Healthcare System, Brockton Campus, C/O Patient Substance Abuse Department, 940 Belmont St., Brockton, MA 02301.
