Obituary: Peter M. Sedlier Sr., Owned Gauthier Van Moving Lines of Peabody for 30 Years

Had been a coach and involved with the Peabody Youth Hockey Program for 18 years.

Peter M. Sedlier Sr. 72, of Peabody, died Thursday, December 11, 2015 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after a short illness. He was born in Peabody, MA on August 15, 1942, the son of the late Michael and Magdalena (Lech) Sedlier and was educated and resided in Peabody all his life.

Peter had been the owner and operator of the Gauthier Van Moving Lines of Peabody for more than 30 years prior to his retirement 2 years ago. He had been a coach and involved with the Peabody Youth Hockey Program for 18 years. He enjoyed going to the Boston Bruins games for many years. Peter’s avocation was working on rebuilding muscle cars, especially his 1972 Monte Carlo car named the Orange Crush. He was always there for his family and his many friends and will be dearly missed. He got great enjoyment playing and being with his dogs.

He was the former husband of Carol (Bonanno) Sedlier of Peabody. He is also survived by his four sons, Peter M. Sedlier Jr. of Peabody, Paul and his wife Janna Sedlier of Pompano Beach, Fl, Michael and his wife Alissandra Sedlier of Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard and Matthew and his wife Dawn Sedlier of Webster, MA, his sisters, Sonia and her husband Joseph Kolodziej and Mary and her husband Gerry De Lucca all of Peabody, his cherished grandchildren, Danielle Smith, Jillian, Lauren, Lara, Colby and Ducati Sedlier, his faithful companion, Linda Horton of Peabody, a special employee and friend, Robert Thibodeau of Peabody and many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility with a Service held at 7:45 PM.
