Obituary: Priscilla Smyrnios, Secretary For the Veterans Agent in Peabody City Hall For 20 Years
Member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope.

Priscilla Smyrnios, 90, died peacefully on Friday March 13, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following an extended illness.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of Nickolas and Bessie (Karvounaris) Smyrnios and was a lifelong resident of the city. She graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1943. She then graduated from Secretarial School.

Ms. Smyrnios worked with GE and Sylvania before taking time to be at home to care for her mother. When she returned to work, she was with the Peabody Redevelopment Authority as plans for the new Centennial Industrial Park were conceived and implemented. She remained with the City of Peabody for 20 years as a Secretary for the Veterans Agent in Peabody City Hall until retiring in the mid 1990’s.
Priscilla was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope. Her most important passion was her dedication and devotion to her family and was like a second mother to her niece and nephew.

She is survived by her nephew Dr. Nicholas Smyrnios & his wife Roxanne Smyrnios of Shrewsbury, and niece Valerie Smyrnios of Peabody, and three grand-nieces and nephews Alexandra Smyrnios, Danielle Smyrnios, and Philip Smyrnios of Shrewsbury. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by her brothers Philip Nicholas Smyrnios, PFC Augustus “Gus” Nicholas Smyrnios, and Emmanuel Nicholas Smyrnios.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Wednesday March 18, 2015 from 10 – 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
