Obituary: Raymond L. Banks; Plumber, Member of the Salvation Army

Korean War veteran.

Raymond L. Banks, 83, of Peabody, beloved husband of Dorothy (Grecny) Banks.

He was loving father of Kimberly Ann Banks of Groveland, Joan Lisa Banks-Smith and her husband Warren of Glenridge, NJ, Judith Lynne and her husband Eric Doerrer of Boxford, and Gregory and his wife Linda of Peabody, also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, (Ret) Captains of the Salvation Army James and Virginia Banks of Savannah, GA, and by his five grandchildren, Kathryn, Christine, Maria, Stephanie, and Victor.

He was predeceased by his eight siblings, Joseph, Arthur, Lydia, William, John, Margaret, Elsie, Oran Jr., Andrew, and Charles. He was a veteran of the Korean War with the United States Air Force and was a member of the Salvation Army and retired as a plumber.

Visiting hours for Raymond will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody and his Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to the Salvation Army Chelsea, East Boston Corps, Chestnut St., Chelsea, MA 02150.
