Obituary: Richard J. Harvey, Employed by Eastman Gelatin Corp. for 36 Years
A longtime resident of Salem and Peabody, he was a member of the VFW in Peabody.

Richard J. Harvey 86, of Epping, N.H., beloved husband of the late Mary T.(McInnis) Harvey, died Saturday, January 17th, 2015. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Henry and Grace (Crowdis) Harvey. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1945.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Harvey had been employed for 36 years with the Eastman Gelatin Corporation of Peabody until the time of his retirement in 1985.

A longtime resident of Salem and Peabody, Richard was a member of the VFW in Peabody. He enjoyed spending his winters in Lake Suzy, Florida and will be deeply missed.
Richard is survived by his sons, Richard “Rick” Harvey and his wife Elizabeth of Hampton, N.H., David Harvey and his wife Darlena of Malden and Brian Harveyand his wife Mary of Harleysville, PA, his three grandchildren, Kevin Harvey of Boston, Kalein and Kristin Harvey of Harleysville, PA, one great grandchild and his brother, Robert Harvey of Salem and his longtime companion Marie Surette of Epping N.H., and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Charles Harvey, Ruth Kilthau and Francis Zappi.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Salem/Peabody Line, Friday, January 23rd at 11A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours omitted. Assisting the family with the arrangements is The O’Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem.
