Obituary: Rita L. (Fasano) Murphy, 72, Raised and Educated in the North End

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 10 at 10:30 at St. Adelaide's Church

Rita L. (Fasano) Murphy, 72, of Peabody and formerly of the North End, died Monday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Colin J. Murphy, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.

Born in Boston on April 8, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Vera (DiCicco) Fasano. She was raised and educated in the North End and had lived there most of her life until moving to Peabody 10 years ago.

Rita was an avid fan of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots and she enjoyed her collection of porcelain dolls. She loved spending time with her family and friends and sharing in all their endeavors, she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her son Michael Murphy of Revere, her two daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Molle and her husband Tony and Laureen Dragicevic and her husband Ivan, all of Peabody, her brother Stephen Fasano and sister Anna Palmarozzo, both of Boston, she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kristina, Mikayla, Daniel, Matthew Dragicevic, Amanda, Talia, and Tony Molle Jr., and Jolene and Michael Murphy. She was predeceased by her brother David Fasano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 10 at 10:30 at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St. Peabody. A visitation will be held prior to the mass from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody.
