Obituary: Robert T. Abbe, Worked For General Electric For Almost 40 Years
Served in WWII in the Navy submarine service.

Robert T. Abbe, formerly of Lake George, NY, passed away peacefully at his home in
Peabody on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. He was the husband of the late Ginny (Ottman) Abbe, with
whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Frederic E.
and Hannah (Tilton) Abbe.
Served in WWII in the Navy submarine service. After the war, he attended Union
College and later served on the Board of Trustees. Bob worked for General Electric for 38 years and retired as Manager of Corporate Steel Purchasing. Bob was an avid black diamond skier into his 70’s, a boater, and a volunteer for many organizations.

He was known for his incredible sense of humor, and his love and devotion to his family.
Bob is survived by two sons, Dick and his wife Dody Abbe, of Binghamton NY, John Abbe of Southport ME; one daughter, Robbie and husband Thor Hallowell of Wenham MA; six
Grandchildren, Hannah, Ben, Tori, Greg, Reed, Melanie; and two great grandchildren, Brian and
Makayla.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Service will be held at a future date. Arrangements are by the
Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.
