Paperwork Due Mid August for Fall Sports Tryouts

Student-athletes and coaches will be gearing up soon for the fall sports season. Here's some important information to know.

Tryouts for fall sports at start Aug. 20, but before students lace up their cleats and head to the field house, there's some paperwork they need to turn in, otherwise they can't play.

The athletic department will be collecting mandatory paperwork from student-athletes Aug. 15-17 at the field house. No athlete will be allowed to try out for a fall sport without proof of a valid physical exam by a physician, an academic eligibility check done by the school, a signed parental permission form and a signed previous concussion form.

Aug. 15 Aug. 16 Aug. 17 Football Soccer Volleyball 9-11 a.m.

Freshman

9-10 a.m. Girls 9-11 a.m. Golf noon - 1 p.m. Sophomores 10-11 a.m. Boys noon - 2 p.m. Cross Country 1-2 p.m. Juniors/Seniors 11 a.m. - noon Field Hockey 1-2 p.m.

Tryout dates and times for each sport are listed below:

Football Aug. 20 PVMHS 4-6:30 p.m. Soccer Boys Aug. 23 Kennedy 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., 3-5 p.m. Soccer Girls Aug. 23 Kennedy 9-11 a.m., 1-3 p.m. Volleyball Aug. 23 PVMHS 9-11:30 a.m. Cross Country Aug. 23 PVMHS 9 a.m. Field Hockey Aug. 23 PVMHS 8:30-11 a.m., 1-3 p.m. Golf Aug. 27 The Meadow 2 p.m.

Prior to the start of the fall season, a parent, athletes and coaches meeting will be held Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Sports participation fees will be collected then as well. Payment can be made by either check or money order -- no cash.
