Peabody 7th Graders To Take Part In Social-Emotional Workshops
The Peabody Education Foundation will help sponsor the course available to all Higgins Middle School seventh-graders in May.
PEABODY, MA — Peabody seventh-graders will get a course in social-emotional intelligence next month as the district seeks to help them reinforce healthy relationships with classmates, peers, teammates, staff and the community.
The Peabody Educational Foundation is helping sponsore= the Core Trainings programs that will be administered from May 2 through May 5 at Higgins Middle School and are designed to enhance students' leadership potential, increase self-worth, become socially aware of one's actions and how they are perceived by others, and promote teamwork.
The interactive workshops, available to all seventh-graders, include small and large group discussions and hands-on learning opportunities.

The Mental Health Initiative was developed to help create programs that will help Peabody students deal with mental health issues that have escalated in recent years because of the COVID-19 pandemic and other societal effects.
The initiatives benefits from the support of the Peabody Education Foundation, Waugh-Lyon Auto Group, North Shore Bank, the JB Thomas Lahey Foundation and the Gra-Voc Charitable Foundation.
