Peabody Awarded $34K MA Culture Grant, Seeks 2027 Applications

The state grant supports local arts and cultural programs, as Peabody accepts applications through Oct. 15.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody is seeking applications from school, civic and community organizations planning events after being awarded $33,700 in Mass Cultural Council funding.

The funding is intended to support local cultural programming, which in recent years has included the International Festival, senior woodcarving classes, community art classes, theater programs, holiday orchestral concerts, Summer Concerts on the Common, school field trips and in-house enrichment for children.

The state funding has helped support arts and culture opportunities across Peabody and generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in other support tied to those projects.

The Mass Cultural Council adopted a $35 million spending plan for this fiscal year, allowing it to award at least 2,300 grants totaling about $28 million to the Commonwealth's cultural sector.

That funding includes the agency's $28.1 million state budget appropriation and support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
