Peabody Baseball Continues Postseason Run
Both the varsity baseball teams at Peabody High and Bishop Fenwick have advanced on to the quarter finals. The rest of the Tanners' and Crusaders' teams, however, have been knocked out of the playoffs.

Mark Bettencourt's varsity baseball club is the only Peabody High team now left in the playoffs.
The Tanners (19-4) bested Lowell on Saturday, 9-2, in the first round of the Division I North bracket and now host Central Catholic in the quarter final Monday (6 p.m.). The Raiders come off a 9-2 win on Newton South.
The Tanners' softball team was shut out from the tournament in the first round, 8-0, by Acton-Boxboro on Saturday, and girls' lacrosse was defeated by North Andover in the quarter finals after beating Central Catholic in double overtime.

Boys' lacrosse had lost to Boston College High School in a preliminary round game, and in team tennis, the girls won a bye in the first round and lost to Acton-Boxboro on Saturday in a quarter final match.

Bishop Fenwick baseball (17-4) knocked off Bedford, 8-3, Sunday afternoon at home in a first round contest in the Division III North bracket and will host Stoneham now on Tuesday (4 p.m.) in the quarter finals.
Crusaders' softball was defeated by Woburn in its opening game in the tournament., girls' lacrosse lost to Division II North foe Marblehead Friday in the quarter finals, 21-5, after defeating Weston in the first round, and boys' lacrosse lost handily to Hanover in the first round of the tournament.
