Peabody, Beverly Police Arrest Two On Fentanyl Charges

A joint investigation between the Peabody and Beverly Police departments seized 52 grams of fentanyl and more than $2,000 in cash.

PEABODY, MA -- Police executed a search warrant at 50 Warren Street in Peabody Friday as part of a joint investigation between the Peabody and Beverly Police Departments. According to Peabody Police, the investigation had been ongoing for several months and came after residents in both communities complained about increased drug trafficking. Police arrested Giovanny G. Ortiz, 25 of Peabody, and Dorileni E. Dume-Vittini, 28, of Peabody.

Both lived at the apartment that was searched, and both were charged with trafficking 52 grams of fentanyl. In addition to the fentanyl, police seized more than $2,000 in cash and a 2014 Ford Edge used in drug transactions.

Massachusetts State Police K9 Trooper McDevitt and his K9 partner Fathom assisted in the execution of the search warrant. In a news release, Peabody Police said the investigation is ongoing.
