Peabody Boys Dominate for Another NEC Track Title [PHOTOS]
Peabody High's track team, on both fronts, just ran away with the league titles this past weekend.
Both the boys' and girls' outdoor track squads handily repeated as conference champs on Saturday at Manning Field in Lynn.
The boys' team, in fact, outscored both second-place Swampscott (67 points) and third-place Marblehead (65 points) for overall points with a whopping total of 165. The Tanners took nine gold medals and scored highly in 15 of 17 events.
The senior class earned most of the gold: Zach Grube won a pair (high jump, 6-02; 100 hurdles, 15.13) and one each for Nick Christensen (mile, 4:24), Austin Brewster (200m, 22.97) and Jason Hiou (800m, 2:01). Junior Chris Cennami took gold in the 100 meter (11.49) and all three relay teams (4x100, 4x400 and 4x800) picked up the rest.

On the girls' side, it was another big win for Peabody, although not by the same margin. The Lady Tanners scored 108 points to 76 from Swampscott and Beverly's 74.
The girls grabbed four individual gold medals: two for junior Heather MacLean (long jump, 17-06; 400m, 59.0) and one apiece for seniors Sarah May (400 hurdles, 68.05) and Pam Zabala (shot put, 34-06).
