Peabody Centennial Parade: Road Closures
Here's everything you need to know about navigating traffic during Sunday's parade.

PEABODY, MA – Peabody will hold its Centennial Parade this Sunday as it continues its 100th birthday celebration.
Though it is expected to be the event of the season, with a record number in attendance, it will impact traffic in the Leather City.
Here's a look at what streets will be closed Sunday, via the Peabody 100 website:

Emerson Park Area
There will be a post parade celebration at Emerson Park from noon until 4 p.m. In order to insure the safety of all attendees, parking on both sides of Perkins Street will be prohibited from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2. Peabody Police will be posting no parking signs along Perkins Street and will remove any cars parked on the street between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 2.
Lynnfield and Foster streets
Streets from Foster and Washington to Lynnfield/Lynn and Washington will be temporarily closed the morning of the parade, starting at 8 a.m. As parade participants will be assembling in that area, all cars must be off the streets by 7 a.m. or they will be towed. No cars will be allowed to enter of leave the streets until the parade has passed. Streets will be opened shortly after.

These streets include:
- Swampscott Ave.
- Dustin St.
- Blaney Ave.
- Dane St.
- Wheeler St.
- Hingston St.
- Hourihan St.
- Colfax St.
- Granite St.
- May St.
- Goodridge St.
Additional Parking
Free parking is available at the Welch School on Swampscott Ave., as well as the Meadow Golf Course on Granite St. Cars may be moved there the evening prior to or the morning of the parade. Cars must be moved from those lots by 1 p.m. on Parade Day.
Exit 26/Lowell Street Eastbound
According to Peabody police, this exit has been slated for closure from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., though the department says they will try and reopen it sooner.
