Peabody Cultural Collaborative Seeks Downtown Activation Coordinator
A new full-time role will lead a two-year effort to boost programming, partnerships and activity downtown.
PEABODY, MA — The Peabody Cultural Collaborative has launched a search for a Downtown Activation Coordinator, a new full-time position tied to a two-year effort to strengthen downtown Peabody for residents, businesses and visitors.
The organization said the role will lead its Downtown Activation Program and focus on expanding community engagement, increasing cultural programming and building infrastructure to support a vibrant downtown district.
The coordinator's work will center on "The Loop," including the Main Street corridor from Peabody Square to Washington Street and Walnut Street. The role will also work with MassDevelopment's Transformative Development Initiative activities on Foster Street, with the goal of coordinating growth and connectivity across downtown.

"This position is about much more than organizing events," PCC Board Chair Camille Crowley said. "The Downtown Activation Coordinator will serve as a connector, collaborator, and community builder, helping create a downtown that reflects the people who live, work, and invest in Peabody. We’re looking for someone who can bring residents, businesses, artists, organizations, and local leaders together around a shared vision for our city’s future."
The program builds on the Downtown Peabody Strategic Plan prepared in 2024 by Creative Collective for the mayor and downtown stakeholders after research and stakeholder interviews. In the first year, the plan will help with onboarding, systems and strategy. In the second year, it will shift to long-term funding and evaluation.

"We're excited to welcome someone who can help transform community ideas into meaningful action and build momentum for a stronger, more connected downtown."
