Peabody Dog Park One Step Closer To Completion

The contract to build the off-leash play area at Emerson Park is out to bid.

PEABODY, MA -- A five-year effort to build Peabody's first, off-leash dog park is one step closer to being finalized. Friends of Peabody Dog Park, the nonprofit group working with the city to build the park, announced this week that the project to construct the park is out to bid. The park will be built in Emerson Park and include areas for all dogs, as well as a separate area for small dogs.

Friends of Peabody Dog Park was formed in 2013 and has been working to raise $20,000 for the park's construction. The nonprofit worked with the city to identify the Emerson Park site for the park, and is currently running a "buy-a-brick" fundraising campaign to help push it ver its goal.

For more information on the dog park, including information on donating and volunteering, see the Friends of Peabody Dog Park Website.
