Peabody Faces Softball Champs Wyoma in Little League Fast Pitch Tonight

Peabody's Little League fast pitch softball all-stars got off to a good start in the District 16 tournament Monday and face an even tougher foe tonight.

The 11- to 12-year-olds are slated to take the field tonight (5:30) at against last year's champs Wyoma. The Peabody girls defeated a combined Lynn all-star team Monday night, 9-6, reports the Daily Item of Lynn.

There are a total of seven teams in the double elimination tournament and the winner and loser of tonight's game will play either Saugus or Swampscott, accordingly, on Friday.

This is the second year of the fast pitch program in Peabody West Little League.
