Peabody Fifth Worst Boston Suburb?

A website ranked Peabody as one of the worst suburbs in the Boston area.

PEABODY, MA - The location-rating site RoadSnacks ranked Peabody as the fifth worst Boston suburb.

RoadSnacks used data from the 2009 to 2014 Census’ American Community Survey to find different Boston suburbs’: education levels; incomes; job opportunities; population density (lots of things to do); and appeal of local homes. They used this data to decide which Boston suburbs are the least appealing.

According to RoadSnacks, Peabody has a population of 51,215 with homes typically costing $321,900 and an adjusted median income of $46,564.

“Peabody isn’t going to win any community service awards here, as it ranks as the fifth worst Boston suburb. The city has the 5th highest unemployment in the area,” wrote Sam Sparkes of RoadSnacks.
