Peabody Free Lunch Summer Program Begins This Month

The Peabody Public Library will offer lunches and daily activities for children and teens from June 27 through Aug. 22.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody children and teens can get a free lunch and enjoy some fun activities with each other during most weekdays throughout the summer.

The Peabody Free Summer Eats Program will begin at the library's main branch at 82 Main Street on June 27 and will run Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 6. Beginning on July 10, the lunches will be offered Mondays through Thursdays through Aug. 22.

Lunch will be available each day from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library will also offer free activities for children and teens each day lunch is served.

Time to Play Tuesdays feature fun games on the lawn.

Water Play Wednesdays offer a chance to cool off.

Thoughtful Thursdays will provide ways for those attending to support others and take care of themselves.

The lunch program will also run Monday through Friday from June 29 through Aug. 25 at the Higgins Middle School on Perkins Street and Peabody Veterans Memorial High School on Lowell Street. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (EDITOR'S NOTE: This is an update from a previous publication.)

There is no registration required. Lunches will be provided for all children up to 18 years old.

This program is brought to by Peabody Public Schools, Citizens Inn, Project Bread, Child Nutrition Outreach Program, and Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
