Peabody High Track Takes League Titles at NEC Meet
Both the boys' and girls' teams repeated as league champs this weekend in Lynn.
The Tanners cleaned up, per usual, at the Northeast Conference Championships Saturday at Manning Field in Lynn.
The boys' squad had wins in five events: Chris Cennami (100m, 11.11), Drew Fossa (1 mile, 4:27.93), Benjamin Martinez (triple jump, 43-06), Marcus Vieira (discus, 136-02) and the 4x100m relay team (44.05).
The rest of the 121 points for the Tanners came from Christian Cedullo (110m hurdles, 2nd), Thomas Drover (400m hurdles, 2nd), Justin Butler (400m, 5th), Owen Brewster (400m, 4th), Scott Meyers (400m, 5th), Erico Cordeiro (800m, 6th), Benjamin Braz (2 mile, 4th), Rich Fournier (2 mile, 5th), Douglas Connolly (high jump, 4th), Steven Villani (long jump, 3rd), Drover (javelin, 3rd), 4x400m relay (2nd) and 4x800m relay (3rd).

The girls' squad had wins in four events: Heather MacLean (800m, 2:18), Catarina Rocha (1 mile, 4:55.45), Lauren Barrett (2 mile, 11:20.24) and Pamela Zabala (35-06.25).
The rest of the 96 points for the Tanners came from Macayla Lachance (400m, 3rd), Samantha Allen (1 mile, 3rd), Antonia Pagliuca (2 mile, 6th), Cynthia Aroke (400m, 2nd), Carrera Dean (400m, 4th), MacLean (long jump, 2rd), Sara Hosman (triple jump, 3rd), Katie Gallo (shot put, 4th), Kat Pence (discus, 6th), 4x100m relay (3rd) and 4x800m relay (3rd).
