Peabody Historical Society Seeking Submissions for Miniature Quilt Challenge

Entries Will be Exhibited at the Smith Barn in

Quilters of all levels are invited to participate in the Peabody Historical Society’s second annual miniature quilt challenge: “Reflections on Old Favorites.” Participants will choose one quilt from a selection of three antique quilts in the Society’s collection and create a miniature quilt inspired by the design, technique, fabric, or color scheme of the original.

Quilters of all levels are welcome. There is no entry fee to participate in this challenge.

Submissions for “Reflections on Old Favorites” will be exhibited along with the society’s antique challenge quilts at the Smith Barn from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, and from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2015.

Visitors will have the opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite quilt, and viewers’ choice awards will be awarded to the top three entries, including a $100 cash prize for first place. This event will also feature an exhibit of antique quilts from the society’s collection artfully arranged throughout the Nathaniel Felton Senior House.

Submission forms must be received by Monday, March 9, 2015 to participate in the challenge and exhibit.
