Peabody To Hold Citywide Primary Election On Sept. 14

The registration deadline for voting in this fall's Peabody primary is Aug. 25.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody voters will have to make a primary choice for Ward 4 and Ward 5 city councilors, while a crowded field is in the mix for the top two spots on the Municipal Light Commission, when they go to the polls for a preliminary election on Sept. 14.

The last day to register to voice in the city primary is Aug. 25. The city clerk's office will be open until 8 p.m. that night.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The polling locations are:

Ward 1, Precinct 1, 2 and 3: Brown School, 150 Lynn Street

Ward 2, Precincts 1, 2 and 3: Welch School, 50 Swampscott Avenue

Ward 3, Precincts 1, 2 and 3: Torigian Senior Center, 75R Center Street

Ward 4, Precincts 1, 2 and 3: Higgins Middle School, 85 Perkins Stree

Ward 4, Precinct 3A: Brooksby Village MacIntosh Building, 300 Brooksby Village Drive

Ward 5, Precincts 1, 2 and 3: Peabody High School, 485 Lowell Street

Ward 6, Precincts 1, 2 and 3: Burke School, 127 Birch Street

Six candidates are running for two spots on the Municipal Light Commission. Thomas Paras and Robert Wheatley are the incumbents. The challengers are Tracy Valletti, Raymond Melvin, Joel Brenner and Marybeth Mallia.

Three candidates are running for Ward 4 City Councilor with Edward Charest the incumbent challenged by Julie Daigle and John Salisbury Rowswell.

Three candidates are also running for Ward 5 City Councilor with Joel Saslaw the incumbent challenged by Matthew Molk and David Gamache.
