Peabody To Host Annual Student Government Day
High school seniors will spend the day with elected officials and participate in government meetings on April 4.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody will host its annual Student Government Day next month where elected high school seniors spend the day with municipal officials and employees to learn the ins and outs of what makes the city work and how decisions are made about its priorities.
Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt said this year's SGD is on April 4.
Student representatives are elected by their peers to take part in the event.

The students will shadow their city counterparts for the day and will participate in a City Council meeting and a School Committee meeting.
Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. is pleased to announce that Student Government Day, an annual community program going back more than 30 years, will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Each year, seniors at PVMHS are elected by their classmates to participate in a day of interaction with elected officials and employees of city government. On Thursday, April 4, the Student Government Day members of the PVMHS Senior Class of 2024 will shadow their city counterparts for the day and will participate in a City Council meeting and School Committee meeting in the evening.
