Peabody Library To Launch Summer Reading With Ice Cream Party

Kids and teens can stop by the Main Library for games, free books and ice cream sundaes on July 12.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody's Main Library will hold a Summer Reading Kick-Off Ice Cream Party on July 12, giving children and teens a chance to start the season with books, games and ice cream.

The event is scheduled from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the Teen Room at the Main Library.

Student attendees can: "Grab an ice cream sundae, play some games, get a free book of your choice to keep, and learn about our summer reading challenge."

The program is open to children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Children entering grades K-5 can attend anytime between 2 and 3 p.m. Teens entering grades 6-12 can stop by between 3 and 4 p.m.

Registration is not required.

The free-book offer and drop-in format may make it easier for children and teens to take part without advanced planning.
