Peabody Little Leaguers Compete in 30th Annual Ray Gallant Tourney
Standouts from this year's Peabody Little League Williamsport teams will make up the roster for Peabody's entry into the 30th Annual Ray Gallant Baseball Tournament in Salem.

The 30th annual Ray Gallant Baseball Tournament gets underway Aug. 15 with seven North Shore teams competing for the title of 2013 Champion. Another hallmark for this year is a switch to wooden bats for the first time.
The tournament starts Thursday (7 p.m.) with champion Marblehead versus Swampscott. Amesbury gets a bye and then Lynn plays Wakefield Friday (5:30 p.m.) and Peabody and Salem go head-to-head (7 p.m.).
The next rounds continue on Saturday, Sunday and Monday with a championship game scheduled for Tuesday (6:30 p.m.). A second title game will be played Wednesday (6:30 p.m.) if needed.

All games are played at O'Grady Field at in Salem.

Representing the Tanner City on Thursday is a roster of familiar Little League standouts from this year's Williamsport teams. The club will be managed by John Federico and coached by Ed Campbell, Adam Buckley, Steve Johns and Garrett Wallace as a junior coach.
