Peabody Looking at a Potential $1 Million Deficit For Snow and Ice Removal
The mayor intends to pursue any potential state and federal government reimbursement for snow and ice removal costs.

The historic snowfall this winter in such a short period of time definitely took its toll on snow removal budgets in Massachusetts.
Peabody has spent just under $1.5 million so far this winter and town officials estimate there may be an additional $200,000 in invoices from contractors yet to come in, according to Christopher Ryder, chief of staff for Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt Jr.
Peabody budgeted $665,000 in the Fiscal year 2015 budget for this winter’s snow and ice removal.
