Peabody Looks To Return $320K To Residents, Businessess By July 31

Mayor Ted Bettencourt said residents and businesses can review the city's online abandoned property list and file claims.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody is looking to return up to $320,000 in unclaimed cash or abandoned property to Tanner City businesses and residents over the next six weeks.

The city has posted an online Unclaimed Property List that includes hundreds of individuals and businesses who may have outstanding funds.

"The city remains committed to reconnecting individuals with their property through an easy and accessible claims process," Mayor Ted Bettencourt said.

Bettencourt said the city has streamlined the claims process to make it easier for individuals to recover unclaimed property.

The list is available through the city website here.

People whose names appear on the Unclaimed Property List can find information about the value of the property being held and obtain a claim form through the website.

Claim forms must be received by July 31. Claimants should allow eight weeks for checks to be administered.
