Peabody Man Arrested After Disturbance, Assaulting Police Officer

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the  press log from April 27-29.

Friday, April 27

  • 2:27 p.m. State police relayed a call of a road rage incident that occurred in Reading. The caller, who was driving a white F350 Comcast bucket truck, was at the intersection of Lowell and Prospect streets. The caller said the other motorist threw a drink at the truck, damaging the window. State police arrived on scene and handled the incident.
  • 4:26 p.m. Joshua P. Green, 22, of 13 Worcester Rd., Peabody, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Allens Lane. He was charged with driving with a suspended license and no valid inspection sticker. A 52-year-old Peabody woman was also issued a summons for allowing an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle and for not having a valid inspection sticker.
  • 6:40 p.m. A caller at Elliott Place reported three males were walking down the street and one of them was carrying a rifle with a silver barrel. Police said the gun was an Airsoft rifle, but confiscated it anyway until the juvenile's parents could be contacted.
  • 7:54 p.m. Police received multiple reports of a fight in the parking lot at Gaeta's Gulf gas station on Route 1. A caller said those involved arrived in cars and were fistfighting -- there were no weapons. Police said the combatants resolved their dispute by the time they arrived and did not wish to pursue the matter any further.
  • 10:34 p.m. A caller reported a male was on the roof of a house on Lowell Street, following a family dispute. Police chased the teenage male, who had recently been arrested on a warrant, on Emerson Street toward Lowell Street. The caller said no initial assault had occurred.
  • 11:38 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle was driving on the bike path near Prospect Street and Albert Road. The vehicle stopped by the Lowe Mart Plaza. An officer reported the green Toyota Camry, driven by a 17-year-old male, was stuck in the marsh after the driver took a wrong turn. Gaeta's was called to tow the car out of the marsh. 

Saturday, April 28

  • 7:16 a.m. A caller on Central Street reported the rear window of his Jeep was broken.
  • 9:09 a.m. A caller on Perley Avenue reported someone threw a rock through the window of his vehicle. Police said the front and rear windshields were damaged.
  • 9:52 a.m. Patrick Glennon, 19, of 183 Lowell St. #2, Peabody, was arrested, following a report from a female caller that he came to the house and stole approximately $200 from a family member. He and the victim were then fighting over the money. Glennon left the area, but was later located by police and taken into custody for domestic assault and battery.
  • 11:20 a.m. An 88-year-old male driver was transported to , following a two-car accident at the corner of Lowell Street and Priscilla Lane.
  • 12:49 p.m. A 26-year-old Somerville man was issued a summons for larceny over $250 and larceny under $250, following a report of a shoplifter at .
  • 1:33 p.m. Police responded to a report of a car into a tree at the corner of Lowell Street and Ridgefield Avenue. The driver was transported to Salem Hospital.
  • 1:33 p.m. An officer reported an iPhone 4S was stolen in the area of .
  • 3:10 p.m. Susan M. Tocci, 52, of 129 Temple Rd., Waltham, was arrested, following a report of shoplifter at the Hallmark store in the . Tocci was charged with shoplifting, receiving stolen property under $250 and possession of burglary tools.
  • 3:36 p.m. Police received a report of a TV scam at .
  • 6:35 p.m. Joshua M. Malo, 24, of 168 Washington St., Peabody, was arrested, following a report of an altercation inside the Foster Variety Market on Foster Street. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
  • 9:39 p.m. Patrick C. Phineiro, 26, of 8 Oakland St. #2, Peabody, was arrested, following a fight at his apartment. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and furnishing a false name to police.

Sunday, April 29

  • 1:19 a.m. Michael P. Linatopi, 43, of 63 Pierpont St. #2, Peabody, was arrested, following an incident on Jacobs Street. Police responded to an unknown disturbance and requested respond to the scene as well. Linatopi was charged with driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest and on two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
  • 3:44 a.m. The Fire Department extinguished a small brush fire on Caller Street near the .
  • 3:53 a.m. Haralambos G. Nash, 23, of 180 Lowell St., Peabody, was arrested, following a report of a car into a pole at 198 Lowell St. Police said the car had actually hit a wall in front of a home. Nash was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
  • 10:25 a.m. The Fire Department extinguished a fire inside a Dumpster on Florence Road.
