Peabody Meat Market Damaged As Car Crashes Into Building

The car was driven into the building on Walnut Street on Saturday morning.

PEABODY, MA — The building housing the New England Meat Market in Peabody sustained significant damage when a car was driven into the front of the store on Saturday morning.

Northeast Massachusetts Emergency Alerts said the sedan crashed through the building at 62 Walnut Street at about 9 a.m. The owner was reportedly out back cutting meat and rushed to the storefront when he heard the crash.

Photos from the scene showed the car was halfway inside the building and halfway outside immediately following the collision.

The female driver sustained injuries that were not reported as serious.

Electrical and gas service was cut to New England Meat Market while the scene was investigated.
