Peabody Native - A Navy Sailor - Dies Overseas

The U.S. Navy Sailor who was reported yesterday to have died overseas Tuesday was a Peabody native.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Andrew J. Clement, 38, died June 21 of a non-combat related injury while deployed to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, according to the Department of Defense.

It was not immediately clear how Clement died. The incident is under investigation.

Clement was a mobilized Navy reservist assigned to the Navy Reserve Unit Tactical Air Control Squadron 22, Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC), Quincy, Massachusetts.

Clement was serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
