Peabody Plans LGBTQ Pride Celebration

"Peabody Celebrates Pride!" will take place on June 29.

Peabody will hold a celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month on June 29th of this summer. Peabody Main Streets has organized a half day of activities and celebrations that will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will conclude at 9:00 p.m.

Peabody Celebrates Pride! will take place at the Courthouse Plaza in Peabody Square. The first part of the celebration will be family friendly from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be activities for young people of all ages including a DJ, face-painting, inspirational rock painting with Create & Escape, local business vendors, food, beverages and ice cream.

At 5:00 p.m. the rainbow Pride flag will be raised at City Hall.

The celebration will then continue at 6:00 p.m. with a Pop-Up Pride Pub for the 21+ crowd on the Courthouse Plaza. Food and adult beverages will be available for purchase. A DJ, Drag Queens, and various yard games will entertain the crowd.

The event will end at 9:00 p.m. as City Hall lights up in rainbow colors.

The event is organized in partnership with the North Shore Alliance of Gay and Lesbian Youth (nAGLY) and North Shore Pride.
