Peabody Police Investigate Two Armed Robberies In 24-Hour Stretch

Peabody Police say it's too early to tell if the 7-Elleven robbery on Wednesday and the Michelle's Market robbery on Thursday are related.

PEABODY, MA -- Two men wearing masks and brandishing handguns robbed a Peabody convenience store at 6:30 pm Thursday. The robbery of Michelle's Market on 85 Main Street came less than 24 hours after a lone gunman robbed a 7-Eleven at 115 Main Street and stole about $200. Police do not know if the two robberies are related.

According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, the suspects in the Michelle's Market robbery left the store on foot. One of the men was wearing a black North Face jacket, a black mask and jeans. The other man was wearing jeans, a blue sweater or jacket and a blue mask. Peabody police reportedly were agble to track a suspect into Salem using a K9 team, but by 8:30 pm they ruled that lead a dead end.

The robbery came after Wednesday night's robbery of a nearby 7-Eleven. The suspect in that robbery was a white or Hispanic man wearing a mask and a blue sweatshirt.
