Peabody Police Officer Nancy Hart Retires

PEABODY, MA – The Peabody Police Department once again bid adieu to one of their longtime veterans as Officer Nancy Hart, who served on the force for more than two decades, retired Monday.

According to a post on the Peabody Police Facebook page, Hart was one of the first full-time female officers on the force.

"Officer Hart is a trailblazer for all current and future female police officers here at the Peabody Police Department," the department wrote in its post. "She is a hard worker, highly respected by her colleagues and was truly dedicated to serving and protecting through her 20-plus career in law enforcement."

The department said it will miss Hart, one of its most beloved officers, and called her retirement "well-deserved."
