Peabody Seeking Donations for First Responders Memorial

The planned monument consists of two statues - one of a police officer and the other a firefighter.

PEABODY, MA – The City of Peabody plans to honor its first responders with a police officer and firefighter memorial and is seeking contributions from its citizens.

The planned monument consists of two statues - one of a police officer and the other a firefighter - for those wishing to pay respects to public safety officers.

According to the Peabody Fire and Police Memorial website, the idea arose from the outpouring of support from the community and beyond after a Peabody firefighter was killed battling a house fire. Those involved in the planning wished to construct a memorial that would allow people to mourn first responders who lost their lives and honor their sacrifice.
