Peabody Sets Up Dedicated Phone, Email For RCN Questions

"There is a lot of excitement about RCN coming here to compete head to head with Comcast," Mayor Bettencourt said.

From the City of Peabody:Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. is pleased to announce that the City has set up a dedicated email address and telephone line for RCN inquiries.

Last month, the Mayor granted a franchise license to RCN to offer its cable TV and high-speed Internet services in Peabody. The agreement ends a 40-year monopoly of cable TV service in the city and ushers in a new era of competition which will benefit residents and businesses alike.

RCN services major metropolitan regions around the country including Boston, Washington, D.C., New York and Chicago. Peabody is the 20th community in Massachusetts to be served by RCN.

“There is a lot of excitement about RCN coming here to compete head to head with Comcast,” Mayor Bettencourt said. “My office is getting a lot of calls with specific questions about the buildout and timeframes for service and we want to respond to each one of them.”

Residents or business owners are encouraged to email their questions or concerns to rcninquiry@peabody-ma.gov or call 978-538-5910. In either case, dedicated personnel will respond to the inquiries promptly.
