Peabody Students Honored At AIC, Assumption, Emerson, Stonehill, UNH

These Peabody students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions.

PEABODY, MA — These Peabody students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

Alexander Serino participated in Emerson Stage's production of "The Spitfire Grill" — performed on Oct. 13 through Oct. 16 at the Robert J. Orchard Stage (Paramount Center) in Boston.

The Spitfire Grill follows the character Percy as she travels to a small town in Wisconsin and works at Hannah's Spitfire Grill. The musical is a heartwarming tale of hope and redemption.

Serino is majoring in Acting and is a member of the class of 2024.

Assumption University announced four Peabody students among those who have been named to the University's Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester. Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a minimum of a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list. The Dean's List is announced at the completion of each fall and spring semester.

Peabody students who earned the distinctions were: Emma Bloom, class of 2026, Matthew Raymond, class of 2024, Claudio Rocha, Class of 2023, and Kailey Silva, class of 2026.

Stonehill College recognized the students named to the Dean's List this semester. To qualify for this honor, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have successfully completed all courses for which they were registered.

Peabody students who earned that distinction were: Rachel Fernandes, Victoria Lombardi, Benjamin Winters, Joseph Castrichini, Shelby Doucette and Madelyne Lomasney.

Alex Houlden graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire in December 2022. Houlden earned a B.S. in Communication Sci & Disorders.

Students who received the honor of Magna Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.65-3.84.

American International College student Gabriel Gitonga earned Dean's List honors for the fall 2022 semester. Dean's List honors are awarded to full-time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA.

Dayanara Cabrera is a member of the Lehigh University class of 2026.

Valentina Ferrara, Sarah Lake, Nicholas Manganiello, Patrick Carbone and Maxwell Corson earned Dean's List honors at Lasell University in the fall 2022 semester.

To be named to the Dean's List, Lasell students must complete at least 12 credits as a full-time student, and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Meaghan Csongor, a Lasell University student, earned a Certified Guest Services Professional (CGSP) certification and designation from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.

The CGSP designation is recognized worldwide as the highest acknowledgment of award-winning guest service for employees in the lodging industry.

Csongor earned the certification in their Hospitality Management course at Lasell.

Madison Nerich delivered a "Microbe Mythbusters" presentation as part of their microbiology lab course at Lasell's Career Readiness Symposium. The presentation, "Is Bottled Water Better Than Tap Water?" investigated the commonly shared misconception and created an informative poster to share scientific findings with a general audience. The presentation incorporated the NACE competencies of career & self-development and moral & ethical reasoning.

Yalines Medrano delivered a "Microbe Mythbusters" presentation as part of their microbiology lab course. The presentation, "Is Cleaning Protein Before Cooking Necessary or Not?" investigated the commonly shared misconception and created an informative poster to share scientific findings with a general audience. The presentation incorporated the NACE competencies of career and self-development and moral and ethical reasoning.

Pat Carbone and Manganiello shared updates from the Lasell University student newspaper, the 1851 Chronicle, at the Career Readiness Symposium. The presentation incorporated the NACE competencies of professionalism, leadership, and career and self-development. Carbone is a copy editor and Manganiello is a digital sports editor of the 1851 Chronicle.
