Peabody Teams Head to Postseason This Week

Securing a bye into the first round, the Peabody Tanners’ baseball club will host the winner of Thursday’s contest between Malden Catholic and Newton North on Saturday (5 p.m.). The Tanners are seeded 4th in the North Division I  tournament with a 16-4 record for the regular season. Malden Catholic is seeded 13th while Newton North is 20th.

With a 10-6 record for the season, the Tanners girls’ lacrosse team heads to Lincoln-Sudbury High School on Wednesday (4 p.m.) for a preliminary round game in the North Division I tournament. The Lady Tanners are seeded 15th while Lincoln-Sudbury is seeded 2nd on a 16-2 record.

The boys’ lacrosse squad did not make the tournament; neither did the Tanners’ softball club.

Over at Bishop Fenwick, the Crusaders’ baseball club stands at 15-5 for the season and is seeded 3rd in the North Division III tournament bracket. The Crusaders host Thursday’s winner (Charlestown vs. Stoneham) on Saturday at home (4 p.m.).

The Lady Crusaders host Austin Prep today (4 p.m.) in a first-round game of lacrosse. Fenwick is seeded 5th with a 15-3 record while Austin Prep is the 12th seed at 11-9 in North Division II tournament play.

Similar to their cross-town neighbors, the Crusaders boys’ squad did not make the postseason.

Crusaders’ softball then enters the postseason on Thursday, hosting No. 11 seed Everett (3:30 p.m.) in a first-round game. The Lady Crusaders are seeded 6th with a 15-4 record in North Division I.
