Peabody Tree Lighting, Holiday Stroll Set For Thanksgiving Weekend

PEABODY, MA — Downtown Peabody will host a holiday stroll to help support Small Business Saturday this year ahead of the lighting of the city Christmas tree on Nov. 26.

The stroll will include many free activities and discounts.

Victorian carolers will be strolling along Main Street between 2 and 4 p.m., there is a live nativity and petting zoo planned at the Center Church, attendees can paint their own ceramic ornament for $5, and the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home will host a "Frozen"-themed moon bounce.

Bill's Music will host an in-store raffle for gift cards, Brodie's Pub is hosting a "Shop Small" selfie station for a chance to win a $50 gift card, the Peabody Fire Department will host a "touch-a-truck" and Jaws of life demonstration, and the Peabody Institute Library will host holiday book readings throughout the afternoon.

The festivities will conclude at a 4:30 p.m. meet-up at City Hall for caroling and the tree lighting with hot chocolate and donuts available at RCN truck.

More details and activities are expected to be confirmed over the next two weeks.
