Peabody West 10s, 11s on to Sectionals

The Peabody West major leaguers may have gone down surprisingly early in the Williamsport Tournament, but the 10- and 11-year-old teams are still coming on strong.

The 10-year-olds, , are now in the sectionals and dominated North Andover East Thursday night, 11-1. The Wakefield Nationals and North Andover will battle it out Friday night -- the winner plays Peabody Saturday (7 p.m. Tapley Park in Danvers).

A second game to determine the championship will be played Sunday (1 p.m.) if necessary.

The 11-year-old all-stars meanwhile won their district title July 10 against Wyoma and await the start of their sectional tournament on July 18. The game schedule has not been posted yet.
