Peabody Woman, 33, Accused of Tossing Hot Coffee on Person
A 33-year-old Peabody woman was issued a court summons for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — throwing a cup of hot coffee at another female at Perfecto's Caffe.

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody police log from Thursday through Sunday.
Thursday, July 7
- 2:42 p.m. A female caller reported another vehicle may have tried to intentionally run her off the road on Route 114 near . Police were attempting to locate the suspect vehicle.
- 4:04 p.m. Two 21-year-old Peabody men were issued summonses for larceny over $250, following a report by a man at the that two males stole his car keys from his locker.
- 4:17 p.m. Thomas B. Mahoney, Jr., 17, of 278 Newbury St. #13, Peabody, was arrested at his residence for domestic assault and battery, following a report of a domestic assault with a family member.
- 5:55 p.m. A 22-year-old Peabody man was issued a summons for assault and battery, following a report of an assault at the man’s residence on Elm Street.
- 6:11 p.m. Joseph R. Spada, Jr., 41, of 183 Beacon Hill Ave. #3, Lynn, was arrested on Route 1 near , following a motor vehicle stop. He was charged with driving with a revoked license in an unregistered vehicle and on two warrants from Brockton District Court.
- 8:12 p.m. A Goldberg Road resident reported two 4G cell phones were stolen from her home. Each phone was valued at $500.
- 9:29 p.m. A caller on Beacon Boulevard reported the fuse was taken out of his central air unit.
Friday, July 8
- 1:33 a.m. A caller on Washington Street reported a suspicious dark-colored SUV. The caller said there was a male puking and a female urinating on the sidewalk. Police located the vehicle, a green 2009 Mercedes, and reported the female was not feeling well. The male was dropping her off at home.
- 5:04 a.m. Lynn police found a motor vehicle on Broad Street in Lynn that was reported stolen from Peabody. The owner was notified.
- 9:58 a.m. A caller at a mobile home park on Route 1 reported a past break-in to her car. A radio faceplate and GPS device were stolen.
- 10:47 a.m. A 27-year-old Danvers woman was issued a summons for driving to endanger, following a motor vehicle stop on the Route 128 overpass onto Centennial Drive.
- 12:37 p.m. Ronald Pretola, 48, and Kimberly Townsend, 40, both of 7 Fairmount Rd., Peabody, were arrested for shoplifting at . The pair was arrested on Route 114 near . Pretola was charged with a second offense of shoplifting and on a warrant.
- 2:34 p.m. A 24-year-old Peabody woman was issued a summons for domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction of property under $250, following a report of a past family dispute at her Holten Street apartment.
- 7:24 p.m. A caller on Barry Street reported a suspicious male was walking back and forth near his home carrying only an umbrella. Police could not locate the person.
- 8:26 p.m. A caller on Goodale Street reported an erratic driver operating a vehicle at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
- 9:48 p.m. A caller at a unit on Northend Street reported a past attempted burglary. Police documented the incident, noting that nothing was missing.
- 11:32 p.m. A caller reported a group of 20 juveniles were fighting at Symphony Park, two of them armed with baseball bats. Officers spoke to a female witness who said the group left in the direction of Naumkeag Road. Police discovered that all the juveniles may have been from Lynnfield and there was no report made of an assault.
- 11:58 p.m. A caller reported he witnessed a male in a white truck steal a tailgate from on Route 1. The suspect then fled onto the southbound side of the highway. State police were notified.
Saturday, July 9
- 12:37 a.m. Michael J. Selig, 30, of 47 Park St., Haverhill, was arrested on Washington Street near after an officer responded to a report of an unknown disturbance. Selig was charged with a second offense of driving under the influence of alcohol and a one-way street violation.
- 3:36 a.m. A resident at a mobile home park on Route 1 reported seeing two people in dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts running from the area toward the highway. Officers checked the area but were unable to find anyone.
- 5:43 a.m. Police found graffiti at the pump station at Spring Pond.
- 6:11 a.m. Police found graffiti at Connolly Park.
- 8:59 a.m. A resident at the same mobile home park reported a pair of purple sunglasses were stolen from a car sometime since Wednesday night. The vehicle was left unlocked.
- 9:23 a.m. A 33-year-old Peabody woman was issued a summons for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, following a report of an assault at on Lowell Street. A caller reported hot coffee was thrown on her. The report did not indicate what led to the altercation.
- 11:01 a.m. A caller on County Street complained that his neighbor was having a yard sale and motor vehicles were parking illegally. Police reported that the person had a permit and there were no illegally parked cars.
- 1:04 p.m. Michael McCausland, 32, of 272 June St. #3, Fall River, was arrested at . He was charged with larceny under $250 and on a warrant.
- 1:10 p.m. A caller reported a motor vehicle struck a pedestrian at the corner of Central and Warren streets. A female was hit by a white SUV that fled the scene down Route 114 headed west. The female was taken to Salem Hospital by ambulance.
- 3:12 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious black pickup truck with its windows broken was parked behind . The truck was broken into the night before and golf clubs were stolen.
- 3:56 p.m. A caller reported her car was broken into while she was inside on Route 1.
- 4:25 p.m. The reported people were swimming in Spring Pond with rafts. The people were gone when an officer arrived at the scene.
- 6:11 p.m. A caller said someone threw water on him while he was out jogging in the Mt. Pleasant area. The occupant of the suspect motor vehicle was found and agreed to apologize to the jogger.
- 6:38 p.m. A female pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle in the on Lowell Street. She was transported to Salem Hospital.
- 6:53 p.m. A caller reported her grandson’s iPod was stolen while he was at the Skate Park on Perkins Street.
- 8:35 p.m. A wire was ripped down from a light pole on Foster Street by a truck. A crew was on scene to take care of the transformer that was affected and said residents in the area of 103 Foster St. might lose power for a time.
- 9:12 p.m. Fireworks were reported on Judith Road.
- 9:21 p.m. Fireworks were reported on Clark Road. An officer spoke to a person who promised to stop.
- 9:30 p.m. Police received multiple complaints of fireworks on Harrison Avenue. A large neighborhood party was going on, but police said the problem had been resolved by the time an officer arrived.
- 10:32 p.m. Police received a number of complaints of fireworks near the Middleton town line in West Peabody. Police said an event was being held in Middleton that included fireworks.
Sunday, July 10
- 3:01 a.m. A caller reported a car struck a pole on Lake Street. The vehicle, a blue 2005 Toyota Corolla driven by a 27-year-old Peabody woman, was towed from the scene. The woman was transported to Salem Hospital and a PMLP crew was dispatched to check on the pole.
- 8:14 a.m. A caller on Silverleaf Way reported his car was vandalized. The tires were flat, but he was unsure if the air was released or the tires were slashed.
- 9 a.m. A caller on Beacon Boulevard reported some parts were stolen from her air-conditioner.
