Peabody Woman Accused Of Running Down Ex-Girlfriend In Salem

Bail for Michelle Nguyen, 19, ​of Peabody, was set at $500 during her arraignment Tuesday.

SALEM, MA -- Michelle Nguyen, 19, of Peabody, pleaded not guilty in Salem District Court Tuesday to charges of domestic assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Police arrested Nguyen Monday after she allegedly tried to run down her ex-girlfriend with her car near the ex-girlfriend's home in Salem.

According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, Nguyen had asked the ex-girlfriend to borrow her car. When the woman refused, she got in the car. The ex-girlfriend tried to stand in front of the car to prevent her from leaving, at which point Nguyen allegedly knocked her to the pavement.
